Food for Your Heart
We’re proud to offer Food For Your Heart, our monthly mobile food distribution events across our low-income, food- and nutrition- insecure communities, with fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, dairy, and more. Be sure to register ahead of time using our quick online form. Supplies are limited, so don’t wait to sign up!
At LCD, we believe every family deserves access to care, clarity, and compassion. Our Health & Wellness Program helps you navigate medical systems, connect to vital resources, and ensure your child’s needs are met at every stage of life.
We offer:
- Enrollment in medical insurance
- Community education sessions with peer networking and support
- Referrals to specialists, therapists, and health services
- Community resources for families of children and young adults (ages 0–28) with all disabilities
All services are free. Whether you’re just getting started or facing new challenges, we’re here to support you.
Financial Literacy
Build confidence with your money no matter where you're starting from.
Our free, 3-week financial skills program is designed to help you take control of your finances with real-world tools and support. Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays (just two hours each), and we provide childcare and meals to make it easier to attend. Join us in person or virtually - whichever works best for you. Classes are available in English and Spanish.
What you'll learn:
- How to bank, budget, and save with confidence
- Understanding and building good credit
- Lender-approved homebuyer education
- Spotting and avoiding predatory lending
- Personalized one-on-one housing counseling
